End of Summer
Well the beach club closed last Sunday and the waves were clean but small. Now that the club is closed I'll start going to other beaches so yesterday I hit a Suffolk county beach on the way home from work. Unfortunately it was high tide so it was mostly shore break. I didn't feel up to taking a chance of getting crushed against the sand so I paddled around for about 40 mins catching an occasional wave.

Some fun yesterday
Got sloppy leftovers from the Nor'easter. Wasn't as big as I had hoped but I still had some fun rides. Lasted about one and a half hours starting at 9:30. Wore my 3/2 wetsuit.
Was joined by some local kids and a local named Pete. He seemed surprised when I told him I been surfing the spot for the last 2 years year round.
Here are some pics from the day before. The South of Islip buoy peaked at a little over 15 feet. However the winds were howling most of the day.
Here is a video someone shot at the NYBB PRO 2009 on Thursday 9/10. The waves were like that yesterday.

5th Annual NYBB PRO
The Pro Heats start this morning at 6:30 am. Unfortunately I'm missing it due to work overload. The surf should be big today due to leftovers from TS Erika. This weekend is looking good.

1st post
I unintentionally got here while trying to subscribe to Guido van Rossum's blog.
Here is my chance to write a blog on something I truly love, bodyboarding.
